Absolute Newbie!
Been raised on digital cameras all my life, so I guess the moment I forked out virtual cash to get a Vivitar UWS was when I was high on nice lomo images which I found on Flickr. The package arrived. I opened it up. I read the condensed manual which basically told me how to put film in. And now I'm stumped. What kind of film should I use? (I know 35mm, ISO 100, 200 or 300...) Would "normal" film you get from "normal" camera shops be up to the task? Do you have to print them, or is it possible to develop and get them as soft-copy before I decide if I want to print? (No, I'm not going to leave them in the canister as a mystery...) Where can I develop these lomo negs? "Normal" cam stores, or are there certain shops where lomo negs just seem to be better produced? Thanks in advance! :)

two types of films and processing. since you using vivtar i shall talk bout 35mm film. you have NEGATIVES, which are your standard film, process in c41 chemistry, gives you basic stuff. iso goes from (dunno whether got below 100, someone help me on this) 100 to bout 1600 or higher. i usually use fuijicolour superia 200 or 400. then you have your POSITIVES or SLIDES, which is as the name states, positive film, that once processed can be viewed on a slide projector. processes in e6 chemistry. awesome colours! more ex though. you can CROSS PROCESS your slides. which means processing your positive slides in the negative chemistry. which means getting negative images on your supposed to be postive film, resulting in saturated colours, colour shifts, and other unexpected surprises. i use agfa precisa ct 100 (which has given me best results so far), kodak ebx, lomo xpro. playing around with expired negs or slides also gives good surprises(: about processing at the labs. if you use negatives you can process at any lab that does processing (duh, haha), and uh, most labs do cds. yeah, they should do cds. softcopies that is. for "better" results, go to triple d at burlington square. actually not say better results, but uncle mike at triple d can be trusted one! and about getting film, scour the classifieds section, cos got a few people always lobang one, all the film dunno they get from where then sell good price (right anot nik? ) wah i talk alot of cock. all the best! dont scared to ask more. dunno whether can answer not, i still noob. :D

Wha, shi fu! So the steps go like this neg -> slides OR x-process OR "normal" development ?? And I just tell the store that I want it processed a certain way? @_@ Hoho... I've read and searched the forums for answers, but the threads were scattered and didn't really answer my questions... Didn't wanna ressurect old threads too, that's why I made my own. Thanks guys!! 1st course of action: procure some film and learn how to put it in... :P
