Any recommendations of negatives to use for Vivitar cam?
I am a newbie cum noob to lomography. I am awaiting for my Vivitar to be received and likely it will arrive tomorrow. However, I can't wait to get the films for snapping once I got the cam. Can someone recommend what negatives to use? Thanks. (No time to travel down to those shops in town to buy slide films yet)

Just remember to shoot only when it's sunny. Shoot with your back facing the sun and your shots would be great!

Thanks all for ur replies. Yeah, I ordered diff slide films online so I will try using them + Fuji superia 400 when I have the cam & load the photos here (provided they can be seen). :D Another qns  , does it mean vivitar can't really perform indoors with bright lights & outdoor at nite? Cheers

as long as the lights are bright is should be okay, however, dont take the risk of taking shots indoors or under strong shade, at least not until you modify your vivitar like brandon did. also you shd try out some strong slides like agfa or velvia and shoot them in really strong sunlight. the result will be quite pleasing im sure. have fun!

Oh thanks. Have bought the elitechrome, velvia, lomo slides & fuji superia 400 to try out. Can't wait for the cam n the slides to arrive man but recently have been raining so hopefully the sun will come out this wk end... Actually what's the modification about? I have read in the other thread but not so sure what it will do to enhance the cam. Does it mean once enhance, vivitar can shoot better indoor & at nite? Thanks again.

if you modify the way brandon did, it will enable your vivitar to shoot on bulb, and shoot mutli exposures.

Oic...thanks! I just received the cam today...Wow, didn't know it's so complicated just to load the film in. Only managed to load the film in after subsequent trials. Will use it tomorrow during lunch time...Hehe Btw, can any photo developing studio process & scan the photos for me (using negatives for my 1st roll)? I dun intend to print it on hard copies, just wanna see the results on soft copies first...

I think you can send to many places to process & scan yr negs. I used to sent mine to standard photo at marina square ($9.90), but today i just send another roll to a neighbourhood studio ($8.00). If you're doing xpro, i think tripleD will be your best bet.

3d do negs process and scan for 7.50.

3d do negs process and scan for 7.50. Yes heard 3D has quite reasonable prices, Uncle mike has any 2 hours service? Standard photo is a 2 hour service. The neighbourhood store is a 1 day service, means i have to make two trips

Thanks for all ur replies. I tin I will try the neighbourhood lab first since I am using negatives for my 1st roll. Will go to those labs u guys suggested for cross processing when I use slide films. :D

I think that you think too much!! haha!! its a good thing but aiyo just "dont think and shoot!" you never know what you get! I was very happy with my 1st attempt with my vivitar, nothing much to worry. Hope you have fun with your viviar ya? :D PS: how to mod the vivitar ar?

chameleon- 07-25-2008

Haha must think mah, cos I dun wan to disappoint myself upon seeing the end results... Yeah, thanks will have fun but too bad weather not good these 2 days, I hope morning will be good so I can go out and take photos... :D
