Elikon 535 Newbie Help! Hi, I've just gotten the Elikon 535 from Icenik yesterday. Not sure if there's a lot of people who have the camera but I'll try my luck.
So the first question is the weather dial at the bottom, which line/marker/indicator do they correspond to? Or are they listed in order of aperture. Like 3.8 is for cloudy, 5.6 is for partly cloudy etc.
And the mysterious silver button at the bottom of the camera, what does it do?
And how to insert the film and extract the film when done? Haha, sorry, I've never done this in my life before. :P

i think the aperture settings right, if you wana base it on the symbols, use the white line as a marker. but if you know exactly which fstop you want, like 5.6 or 8, use the orange line to mark with the numbers.
the silver button on the bottom is probably the film rewind button. dont wind your film back without pressing it, or you'll rip your film in half.
so to extract, you shoot your last frame, press the silver button, then rewind the film using the winder at the top, wind until you dont feel any tension (meaning your film finished winding), then you open your back and take the canister out.
loading is pretty simple. put the canister upside down into the left of the camera, pull the leader of the film to the right, insert the leader into one the "holes" on the spool, when its securely placed there, depress the shutter and wind the film forward.
the spool shd wind and pull the film forward one frame.
then close the back and shoot off another shot, it'll be blank cos its been exposed alr.
that shd be all(:
do post up your photos taken with the cam, i'm getting mine real soon.

must thank smellyjelly for answering the questions.
i -*test*-('")ed it before passing to you. should work ;)
anyway just snap til you can wind anymore and press the lil silver button on the bottom and rewind it manually.
i will try to find an english version manual.

Hmmm, I'm not sure, I've probably shot about 5? but the counter is slowly inching towards 1..

hahah oh shit. how mnay shots did you shoot after closing the back cover? about 2 shots shd be before 1. like the meter shd count dot dot then 1. but counter not really impt lah. just shoot and shoot lor.

I think u better turn the rewind level slightly to check if there's any tension.

It's fine icenik, just that I'm a real klutz with film cameras.
And jeff, how to tell if there's tension? I kind of turned.. about half the knob already. :S

make as many mistakes as you can, you'll learn from it.
