Hmm so Do u think I should get Holga 120N or Holga 135BC. I dont see a difference in it except the film ya. Which produces better image ? The fact is im gonna use 35mm film on Holga 120N.I understand that Holga pics are best with 120 film. I hope by using 35mm film it wont affect the image quality. I dont intend to use 120 films at all.But I want the sprocket thingy lei.zzz.If i use holga 135BC is there a way i can have the sprockets .Is it by cutting a hole in a piece of cardboard, and put it in front of the film
Im in a dilemma now. :( Someone pls enlighten me about Holgas.

hey, i'm a holga135bc user and its served me well the past few months.
word of advice.
holga135bc strictly for 35mm, and there are no masks for you to play with, only black corner vignetting.
simple, cheap, and thats about it.
holga 120 got many more things to play with, got 120 got 35mm got polaroid also can.
when you mod your holga to use 35mm film, you can either use a mask to produce normal pictures or use another to show the sprockets.
i have a friend who uses holga120 to shoot 35mm before (ahmadessien) and i remembered correctly he mentioned once that composing your shots is a bitch.
but!
even after saying all this, i would suggest getting the 120.
if you are really passion, gung ho, and wana play play play, 120 is a better choice.
135 abit limited. not regreting it though :D

yup smellyjelly is right, composing using 120 with 35mm takes time to master.
but as i say the sprocket thing give a certain feel to it.
so I WOULD suggest that you get 120N with the 35 mm sprocket adapter.
On the other hand if you want to get vignetting on 35mm,
you SHOULD get a 135bc.
Experiment first, then chose which one you like best.
The fun part is the experimenting.
THIS TAKES TIME, SO DONT RUSH IT(:

Hmmm. Since you want to use 35mm film, don't bother buying a holga. You can just buy other normal 35mm cameras with plastic lenses. Holgas are meant for 120mm medium format films, to give you dreamy and vintage-looking photos. Using 35mm film on a Holga, it's like buying a Lamborghini in Singapore where you can't even race or speed.
If you really die die wanna have those sprocket effects, you get the 120N and get a 35mm pano adapter (not 35mm adapter). Otherwise, to save money, just DIY use black tape. All these go through a hassle, nevertheless.

hmm.. the questions u are asking is also already answered in the many other threads. maybe go look arnd processing issues and links for more info.
holga 135 to me is a waste of money. can get like some any other plastic camera with plastic lens for a much cheaper price. esp if u look arnd sungei rd.

thank yous :)
more questions..
any major differences on the pictures using plastic vs glass lens?
wad does masking actually do?
does holga 120 take vignette shots?
also, are we able to bring the roll of film to the shops and just ask them to develop and burn into a cd without developing the photos? how much is the cost of this process at Triple D? means we'll also have 1 CD for each roll of film??
heh.. sorry for the stream of questions..

Glass lens are sharper than plastic, plastic gives you the blurry effects. And Holga will definitely gives you the vignette. Its one of their specialties.
Should check out every topics and threads before asking question. Your answers are all in here. Here's for starters..

Masking? As in taping the holga? It reduces the amount of light leaks that holgas are known to have, due to it's "poor" construction.

Just ask them to "develop and scan into CD". Most photoshops provides this service. Ain't too sure how much TripleD costs. I think there's a price list hanging around in the forum. I scan mine at another photoshop. They scanned my 3 rolls of film into one CD.
heh.. sorry for the stream of questions..
HTHs. :D
