Holga Users: What film do you use?
What film do you use? For Normal Processing: For Cross Processing: Possible to show some pictures you have taken with that particular film(s)?

For 120mm: The cheapest slide film.

l33_brandon- 08-06-2008

Cheapest slide film = around $5. Scanning + developing fees, around $13 $18 dollars for 12 shots, 1 shot = $1.50!

mod and use 35mm. cheapest.

My lesson learnt for using Holga: try to stick to 120mm film, although it's costly. And use square frames instead of the rectangular ones that give you more shots. I use the cheapest slide film I could find, which is Fuji Provia 100F $5.20 from Ruby's. The only negative I used, and which I think it sucked, is Kodak Portra 160VC. Dull colours, eugh. (Talking about 120mm films for the above) To view the photos, just search with "holga *film*" The Holga is my first lomo camera, and it's still my favourite till now. ;)

elitechrome. stick to 120. it gives u the best colours u can ever get with superb sunlight compared from a 135bc.

what kinda 35mm films do you guys recommend? normal: Kodak Colorplus 200? xpro: Agfa Precisa 100? Kodak Elite Chrome 100 ? Fuji Sensia 100 ? Does ISO play a part in the outcome of photos? i like saturated colours. Not into like those wholly purple/blue kinda photos YET

try all. well said. you really should experiment as much as possible ;) Couldn't agree more. You're playing lomo, which is indefinitely an expensive hobby. ;)

I've been digging posts everywhere searching for the film I should be using once I get my Holga. Here's a list I came up with that I'll like to experiment with. Can someone advice on the approximate price? Their effects New vs Expired? Is using expensive films overkill on the Holga? Kodak Ektachrome EPP / G (slide) (xpro: high saturations) Kodak Elitechrome (slide) Kodak Portra (negative) Konica Chrome Centuria 200 (slide) Fuji Provia (slide) (xpro: greenish) Fuji Velvia (slide) (xpro: reddish) Afga CT Precisa Kodak 400TX (bw)

For the Holga I go for the cheapest slides I can get: Fuji Provia. The difference of the films is just the colours and quality. I'm playing lomo just for the fun of it; getting nice accident photos. So I don't really go for expensive films.
