Holga's miniflash/hotshoe
Hey guys, need a little help here.. The external flash on my Holga doesn't seem to work sometimes. but it works perfectly on my FE2. So i'm guessing its a problem with the hot shoe on my Holga itself. I need to really push the mini flash down against the contact before it can detect a trigger. Is there any way to resolve this issue? Thanks!

My hotshoe isn't really tight with holga's external flash too. I have to push down, tilt left, tilt right, try here and there then I can get the flash. Any one can help us out!

O i solved the problem already. What i did was take a small portion of electrical tape/pvc tape and pasted it on the side where the hotshoe contacts the flash unit to elevate it. it works. Try it! :D:D

i went to triple d today to let d uncle know of d problem. n it hasn't been the hotshoe that is faulty. it's just that the flash mounted very loosely onto d holga hotshoe. so i got an exchange for d flash since i only bought it yesterday. my new unit works because it's not so loose. d uncle told me to stuff thin pieces of paper at d sides to make d mount even tighter yet. :D

Use the pvc solution. its more "permanent" than a few pieces of paper.

try using the pvc tape method, it worked on my colorsplash flash

hey spy do you think you can take a picture of your holga hotshoe? Cause its really to imagine from the words? Cause im having the same problem and it really irks me out! Thanks!

Holga hotshoe? I don't have a picture of it right now. And my Holga has been loaned out to my friend already for the next couple of months Just look at your Flash, at the bottom of the flash, its where the connector is. just trial and error with it, cos yea, its really hard to describe it. stick a piece of pvc tape so that the connectors from the flash will be pushed against the hotshoe sync when slotted in. Shouldn't be too hard, its not rocket science.

Where to buy pvc tape? A little wasteful just to buy for a small piece for the holga?

think masking tape will do just fine? or any tape, coz if put paper, once you remove your flash from d hotshoe d paper will fall off.

pvc tape doesnt cost more than 50c a roll. masking tape works as well. anything that raises one side of the flash. FicXioN: You still have the option of buying a new flash :D
