How to create high-contrast images using B+W film
Title says all folks, I use a LC-A+ and a DIANA. Cheers :) edit: I am aware how to do it digitally (photoshop, contrast / brightness etc.), was just wondering, from all the shots I saw in the B+W forum if there is another way.

not to confuse ppl B+W is a filter brand.

smellyjelly- 08-10-2008

yeah good filters those stuff. say b&w or bnw.

use a red filter. i use it for my holga and nikon slr. if you dont mind can glue a step up thread onto ur diana and use a screw on filter. bear in mind, red steps down by i think 2 stops. so exposure time as to be longer.

also can try shooting at a higher iso than the intended film. for eg. ilford pan 100 shoot at 200 setting. or pushing the film during developing. that one must ask invisibl3, king of bnw developing.

use ERA film. hahahha contrast is dammm high. makes it hard to print also uh

scapetist- 08-13-2008

Erm.. take the photos in bright sunlight.. contrast confirm alot.. if not enough.. push the film while developing.. i watched a documentary before and this guy add some chemicals to the photos while developing to bring out more contrast in the photos..

digital yes analog no..

If you develop your own films, yes you can create more contrast. "Developing time controls the shadows and agitation controls grain and contrast. Different developers and film combinations give you a different look of your negatives."

i got one question here, do you guys edit your picture before you guys post it in forum? Those I scan myself, I sometimes edit the brightness and adjust a bit of level/curve if necessary for those film that ain't in my scanner profile. I'll do some removal of dust too.
