Hi all,
i'm selling my bike..please see
http://sgcycling.org/index.php?showtopic=4863
Expensive foldable teabag bike.
Dahon Jetstream XP

just got a dahon speed d7 ( or is it a d3 ) from my brother!!! :) :) but not as stylo as strida.. maybe we shud start a sub grp of lomotion : the small wheeled lomo ppl. whakakakaka
just outta curiosity, doesn't it take a lot more energy to cycle on a bicycle with small wheels like that?
Taken from the Strida forum:
-*test*-('")s have shown that up to 16 mp/h, the small wheel is more efficient than a big wheel. between 16 and 33 mp/h there is little difference. over 33 mp/h the gyroscopic effect of the big wheel makes it more effective. most folks do not go over 33 mp/h..." (note: the tour de france averages somewhere around 25mp/h and those are world class athletes including the likes of lance armstrong.)
Therefore there's not much difference between big and small wheels if you are only zipping around in town.
that dahon is poison.
the ting about dahon that amaze me is they have 26" foldables.. imagine bringing that onto a train. (not allowed locally of coz)
actually riding on small bikes easier to manoeuvre.
ratnor, some of us are cycling this sat. pm me if you're interested.
p.s. there are currently 4 strida owners on this forum.
wah the bike all damn nice
lol. i dont have a strida but i just got myself a bike. :P
