Lenses
hey guys. I have a Nikon D40X camera and i was wondering if you guys could tell me what type of 3rd party lenses ( eg. wide angle lens ) i could use on this camera? And where i could get them. If i were to buy strait from nikon outlet it would be expensive. Thank you.

Wide angle or Ultra wide angle? there's a difference. If U.wide you can try Sigma 10-20mm or the new tokina 11-16mm. Sigma around 900 for the motor one (since d40x doesnt have motor). Tokina would be more expensive cause it's just released. cheers

im not familiar with tamron man. But if the tamron has it's own motor then can lor. But prepare to pay a little more la.

is there a difference between the quality of a nikon lens and a 3rd party lens? for the same specifications i mean.

pastrana- 10-12-2008

hi there im using the d40 too. and for the diff between tamron and nikon lens is a bit . . which is the quality. u can onli see the diff if u zoom in. nikon lens capture more detail . . much much more. but if u print both pics using diff lens u wun not c a thing. i have tried the 17-50mm on my d40 and also the tamron. i be better off buying another body like d200 or d300 than paying nearly a 3k lens. think about it
