Lomo LC-A newbie question I suddenly have an interest in this camera and wonder why is it so expensive. First I'll like to know if it is an all metal camera therefore the price? And is the mechanism reliable?
I saw it at Vivo city and i think the price is above $400+!

LC-A is not an all metal camera. However, it has substantial build quality.
I believe the real reason behind the high price is probably because of the high demand and limited supply (note that LC-A have already stopped production).

That should be the LC-A+. You can find used/old LC-A for about 300 bucks. As for why the LC-A/LC-A+ is so expensive ... whatever Lomography touches turns to wallet-burning-devices.

yes although a lomo lca+ has more "functions", a lca would still be a better choice because of its sturdiness.

i believe the NOMO ones are all metal LC-A. go get the vintage ones with the CCCP logo. and it's much more cheaper and sturdier.

metal??? i dont see any metal on mine cept for the hinges!

well for all i know the one i had surely wasnt plastic unlike the lc-a refurbished. it was as solid as a rock like the olympus xa2.

I can totally swear upon it's sturdiness.
I know. Cause i skidded on my blades this morning and sadly my LCA was hanging daintily on my wrist. Working all fine except it's badly knocked up on the exterior. :(

Just came back from PageOne at vivo, they dun have the actual LC-A+ on display but there's a price list n they're selling for $470.80. Way too high. Thanks for the feedbacks...will look around.
I would have thought for the price it will be an all metal camera.

for less than $300, get the original LC-A manufactured in Russian from ebay. But beware of fake sellers too.
For more than $400, get the copy LC-A made in china from lomography.com
You decide. Screwed up marketing strategy. Monopoly market... ughh
