Newbie qn: What's the difference between normal and x-pro?
First things first. Hi all! I'm a Holga newbie. =) I just bought one not long ago and had shot with a roll of 35mm film. The exact name of the film? Erm... I can't rem. =P Anyhoo, the question is (or questions =P), what's the difference between normal processing and cross-processing? I read somewhere that you can only x-pro slides. I THINK the film I got is the normal ones so that would mean I can't x-pro it? Oh, and the scanning thingy. Erm. That's to have a soft copy of all the photos in the nice little sprocket effects right? Sorry for the many questions. Virgin la. =P OH, and you guys have a nice community here. Will definitely be popping by a lot more often. =)

Ah. Thanks for the links. I obviously haven't looked hard enough. Must be my small chinese eyes. :P I'll be sure to read it and erm.. ask more questions if I'm still scratching my head. Heh.

Thanks TKG. I've got most of my questions answered. =) Erm.. one more thing though (even though it's not really with regard to processing).. When you guys try to focus on the Holga, do you use the viewfinder? The viewfinder is skewed to the left, but the lens is in the centre.. so when I look into it and I snap, does it come out as it should be? Or should I make adjustments? like.. shift a bit left after I focus with the viewfinder? I know I very lor soh.. but I a bit the blur now  Thanks in advance! :D

shoot from ur hip. this is what i do for holga 120

fuzk- 05-19-2008

 Your estimation must be very good then. :D What about those you want to keep in frames? Like shots of people? Shooting from my hips would be.. a bit weird. Oh, I've found something on the net with regard to focusing. Not sure if this is the right place to put it or if you guys have seen it but here it is. :) http://flickr.com/photos/squarefrog/sets/72157600108844035/

shooting from the hip doesnt necessarily mean shooting from the hip. it's a way of shooting without looking through the viewfinder. it's about act fast, think fast when u see something interesting that happens within that split second and be able to capture that moment.

fuzk- 05-19-2008

Oh right. I thought he meant literally shooting from the hip.. I know what you mean but sometimes I wanna try to frame it correctly or that moment is lost. I like how unpredictable the photos might turn out, but just wondering if it's possible to frame it... doesn't have to be perfect.. at least not half of my friend's face.
