please recommend me something. imma newb.
ok, im not into professional photography or anything. i dont know nuts about cameras, lomos and stuff. but what im looking for is a old fashioned-ish camera that has cheap film. i like the worn-off and slightly decoloured (and sometimes a little orange-y)effect of certain lomos and polaroids and im looking for something to do that. i saw the lomo lca and i like the quality of the shots generally taken with that. however i think its too expensive for my budget (which is around a hundred) i dont mind a 2nd hand HOWEVER, i want something that has relatively cheap film. can someone recommend me a camera/lomo that suits my needs?

Go 35mm. They are available almost anywhere and from your 'requirements', you can find cheap expired film and they often give some weird and slightly decolored (sometimes) results. One word : unpredictable. As for camera, there are many budget ones like the Vivitar UWS that perform great too. It's less than half of your budget too. Otherwise, get a used film cam and have fun ... there are lots of them around a hundred bucks and gives you hours and years of fun. Welcome :)

ok
thanks

Yeah, the vivitar might be a good start for you, functions easily, wide angle lens and uses 35mm film, like ndroo said there lots of cheap expired films, lots of ways to achieve different effects on films too, expect the unexpected when using such cams! :D

Hey! I'm a newbie too and would love to get hold of a lomo camera. Is HOLGA a good start? or any other recommendations other then vivitar? If I get a HOLGA should I get the 35mm adapter as well?

Precisa sucks on XA2. Bad experience (once bitten, twice not shy). Use Fuji Superia 400, hehe, or maybe Sensia 100 and also Kodak EPP for the best out of the camera.

er.. get e golden half.. 1 roll of film 72 exposure.. cheap film!

Here's wat i recommend. Go sungei rd. Find yourself a toy camera for $1. Maybe the used Koko Krunch camera. Buy a roll of negatives with ISO 200, then shoot in daylight. SUPER CHEAP.

if you're patient and like to read more about cameras and it's complexity, the smena 8m can easily be obtained at a dirt cheap price and if harnessed, produces amazing, amazing results :)
