Polaroid Event need Help!!!
Dear Polaroid enthusiasts in LOMOTION, Not to sure where to post this? :) As we all know Polaroid Crop announced on Fed 8, 2008 and mark the end of an era of 60 Years for Polaroid making. All Polaroid film will discontinue production of all instant film. We will not be able to do too much to save Polaroid Crop, rather the remarkable invention of Sir. Edwin Land. Big thanks to: Mr. Edwin Land for all his breaking inventions and for never stop believing in his work and constantly improving the features of his cameras and films. Presenting the first polaroid picture to the public in 1947 and launching the first polaroid camera (model 95) in 1948, polaroid brought us an almost countless number of amazing polaroid tools. Among these optical masterpieces one is maybe outstanding: The original SX-70 was presented in 1972 and was a breathtaking success, zooming Edward Land on the cover of many magazines all over the world. It break my heart to heard that Polaroid Crop announced this year and to make it worsen all polaroid film will discontinue production of all instant film and stock of the 600film will only least till end of this year - early 2009! My heart stop for a second! Sad to heard that digital has taking over Polaroid/instant pictures. Please read more here : www.savepolaroid.com . I know i cant do too much to save polaroid and i just hope Ilford and Fuij will take over to make this piece of art and keep them alive! 2 months plus has past! I tell myself what i can do to keep Polaroid going and let everyone here aware what they will missing out in a few years time! People are just carelessly abandoned polaroid instant pictures this beautiful invention of Sir. Edwin Land. I came an idea to organize an event only for Polaroid! An event, competition, gathering and a mini galley for polaroid cameras and gather polaroid pictures to form a wall! This will let people to know and remember this great invention of instant pictures and let everyone fully aware what they are missing out in time to come! I need everyone help here! I will need to collect polaroid pictures you took for the past few years! As many as possible to form a wall of polaroid pictures. Please email me Xavier.Teo to: admin@myfavthings.com.sg for more info. There will be places location for you to drop all your polaroid pictures. If you need me to return your pictures please write down your name, address and your email address! This is a non profit event! Doing it out of my interest and my love for Polaroid. All type and format of instant pictures are welcome. 1. 600 film 2. Spectra film 3. Pack film (any type) 4. Fuji mini.
