Description
Like its predecessor, Dragon II is also a pure panoramic pinhole which takes 120 films to make 618 format photos. It features a curved film plane that allow lights more evenly distrbuted on both center and edges so as to minimize vignetting.
There is a spirit level and a viewfinder on top of the camera to ensure horizontal. Realizing that a pinhole camera is usually used on a tripod, the metal tripod is designed for extra endurance.
The camera body is made of aluminum metal, it is as solid as a tank. The top and sides are manually etched traditional dragon patterns. Front panel is cover with real leather. Overall it looks classic and artistic.
Besides the materials used, we added an exposure dial at the back. Readings from a light meter is easily converted to f200. Moreover, as suggested by Dragon users, we added a door to the red window, so that no more worry of fogging (although there is no fogging reported in Dragon). The use of twin window also allows the creation of overlapping effects easily, esp. when the turret shutter is used on Dragon II. Next to the shutter is added a reflective mirror, this can be used for composition in self-portrait.
Dragon II is also designed to take the new turret shutter (optional). When using a turret shutter, it turns into a 614 panoramic camera.
