Subjects appear off-center in pictures taken with the Holga. Okay, this is stupid but somehow, my subjects in pictures taken with the Holga 120SF appear off-center at times. They are either too low, or positioned on either side of the picture. I've tried to fix this by positioning the subjects off-center in my viewfinder in order to get them dead center in the final product but something's still off.
Are there tips on how to position my subjects in the viewfinder such that they appear dead center in the final product?
This doesn't only happen with the Holga but with my Vivitar as well. Help!

well..the holga view finder IS off centered..so the nearer u are to your subject..the more off centered its gonna be...i guess its about trial and error..after shooting a few rolls..you'll know how to position your subject with the view finder..
as for me..i almost never use the view finder at all...shoot from the hip..lol

try shooting on a DSLR and see if you can get the subject to be dead center. if it's not, then you must be cock-eyed.

toys cameras are not SLRs.
so u dont exactly capture what u see in the viewfinder. u gotta offset abit if u are shooting close ups.
if its still off centre, the holga's and vivitar got something wrong.

camera at the level of your hip..point the lens in the guesstimated direction..and just shoot..

dont think just wack. everything just aim with the subject dead centre in the holga viewfinder. photos come out naturally follow the rules of thirds. lol.

haha okay i'm pretty sure i'm not cock-eyed. shoot from the hip eh, how does that work exactly?hip shooting doesnt necessarily refer to the hip, but shooting from weird angles without looking through the viewfinder. alot of guesstimation involved. and chance too.

the best is just experiment, see whats suits you.
shot from the hip, head, floor, chest.
the results will be interesting(:

what i'd normally do for a centered shot is to aim from the top.if you holga has a hot-shoe then that's where you'd wanna look from.
