THE ABSOLUT-LOMO CONNECTION
Lomography is thrilled to announce its first partnership with V&S Absolut Spirits – the highly esteemed Swedish company that has produced Absolut Vodka since 1979. For many years, Absolut advertising campaigns have been famous for their creativity and innovation. They’ve worked with a wide range of highly talented artists such as Andy Warhol – the king of Pop Art, and Laurence Gartel – the Digital Art pioneer. This year, the Lomographic Society was invited by Absolut to participate in a unique new project. Using the concepts of public art and group participation, the Absolut Lomo project will mobilize the creative input of the global Lomographic community.
As one might expect, the word ABSOLUT means “absolute” in Swedish – and is defined as “the top-notch”, or “a personal favorite”. The “absolute” is free from any limitation or condition, and is philosophically complete in itself.

YOUR VISION OF ABSOLUT LOMO
Thus, the buzzwords for this challenge read as such: Capture your vision of Absolut through one or a series of excellent Lomographic camera images and join the worldwide pool of Absolut Lomo participants. We want to see YOUR vision of what you consider to be ABSOLUT. Devote yourself wholly to visual perception, or work from the wide field of inspiration that comes from the phenomena of your experienced world. We hereby invite you to harness the great power of this hand-eye-mind-Lomo connection and apply it against four categories - all related to your vision of \\"Absolut Lomo\\" themes. As Lomographic photography is all about the girl or guy behind the lens, it's only fitting to leave the definition of this one up to you. Choose any subject in the world that inspired you to shoot an incredible Absolut Lomo image. Whether it's your Day Trip to Paris, a Stuffed Animal Explosion, a Karaoke Championship, the Love of Your Life or your Midnight Rendezvous - you pick the theme, define that Absolut Lomo Moment and send us your finest images to match.

YOUR WISH IS OUR COMMAND
It is with immense pride that we present the all-new upload and gallery functions for this Absolut-LOMO competition. We've incorporated a host of new functionality - as requested by our beloved Lomographic Community. You can now easily upload multiple images, tag them all at once, add in your shot locations, camera, upload portrait shots and a whole bunch of other info tidbits that you would like to share with other users. Once you hit \\"save,\\" your images will be submitted to the Online Gallery and will be easily searchable by country, city, camera, tags, and category. Welcome to the next phase of Lomographic competitions - and please savor this early taste of even better things to come for Lomography.com!

FAME AND PRIZES
Expect some tasty prize delights for your efforts. From now until the end of February, 3 participants will be chosen every four weeks ( a total of 9 winners) to receive a free round-trip ticket to the next Lomography World Congress - scheduled to take place in London in 2007 (Congress date to be confirmed; check out the previous Lomography Congress events here: www.lomography.com/congress2002 and www.lomography.com/congress2004).
Also, every four weeks, 7 additional winners will be awarded with special Lomography cameras and another 100 runners-up will receive Fisheye1 cameras!
And at the end of the project, one overall champion will be chosen from all the participants to receive the prestigious Gold Invitation of the Lomography World Congress 2007 in London!
OFFLINE EVENTS: Check out the website for regular updates on local offline events all around the world (Lomography city-challenges, parties and exhibitions) to be held along with this project too (January to March 2007).

ABSOLUT-LOMO ARTISTS
In order to kick-off this grand project and creative experiment, six artists from different countries (most of them longstanding Lomographers), were invited to explore their Vision of Absolut through (1) a compelling piece of personal art and (2) a Lomographic interpretation. Their work is being published throughout the world as a new and groundbreaking Absolut advertising campaign.

Every image that you submit has the chance to appear in a real gallery in Stockholm, Sweden. Every day, a large batch of uploaded shots are printed out and placed into the ever-growing exhibition LomoWall. This whole process is being filmed and showcased in a time-lapse movie on
