Congrats on your new toy! Now you'll just need to go out and SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT!
saviorjosh- 12-19-2007
first off, congratulations, ranon! :D this is surely a beauty.
not to spoil your excitement, but i do have a question.
the lomo boy is a logo of the LSI which was only created after the early 1990s.
so based on this logic, any LCA made before 1990 should not carry a lomo boy.
however, judging from the serial number, your new sweetheart should be made in 1988. how come it comes with the lomo boy logo? i am a bit confused.
but this is not really important. enjoy your camera, anyway!!

hmmmm, what you have said makes a lot of sense. but im no expert in this area, so i dont really have answers to it either! but like you have said, it isnt really important can shoot can already lah! haha!

upon closer inspection i realised that the cheater who sold the camera to me actually stuck a lomoboy sticker on it. cheater! the original lomoboy should be silkscreened on if im not wrong. the cutting of the lomoboy was very precise and i suspect that he used an exacto knife. i have tried remove the dumbass sticker but i realise that if i remove the sticker, the shutter blinds will have a lot of stains, so i just left it there. anyway i will explain the full story should i decide to sell it in future. that is all i have to say sir! hahahahahaa!
i thank saviourjosh for shedding some light on this incident! thanks! on hindsight lesson 1 is that you pay for what you get! if you see something that is really quite a lot cheaper than what its supposed to be, dont be too trusting!
funksoulava- 12-19-2007
So would you like to share with us how much did you pay of it? :)
badeggcat- 12-19-2007
lighter fluid can remove sticker stains...
ranon- 12-19-2007
i paid around 280SGD for it man. haha, lazy lah wanna buy lighter fluid.
escapologist- 12-19-2007
just got mine today as well from LSI.

so i guess this was done in 2001? plus it feels very light and plastic compared to the NOMO LC-A which is a turnoff for me. :?
funksoulava- 12-19-2007
OIC. Is that considered a good price? BTW, is the model with the LOMO boy logo more 'sought after' then pre-LSI models?

ranon- 12-19-2007
i dont know if its a good price man, by my own standards for the condition its in, i think its fine with me!
haha, i just think it appeals more to vain people for your second question! haha! = )

Funny ranon leh, you got cheated all because of a well cut sticker?
But seriously If I was to dump my cx-2 and go for a lca, I choose nomo version over any other things else. The russian smell definitely does it for me.
saviorjosh- 12-19-2007
ranon, i hope i did not spoil your day. it's certainly not good for the seller to cheat, but it's still cool to have a lomoboy even if it's a sticker, isn't it? keep the lomoboy there and enjoy your LCA! Above all and after all, it's a Lomo LC-A!! It's the camera and the boy/girl behind the camera that really count, not the lomoboy logo. :) We will be looking forward to your shots!! cheer up!
